Ara Lee Anderson Bailey Gillette, 91, of Colorado City, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in a Colorado City nursing home. Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Mt Olive Memorial Park.She was born January 28, 1923 in Howard County, Texas and attended school at Midway and Moore. She moved to California as a young girl and had worked as a \Rosie the Riveter\ for Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She returned to Howard County after the war and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.Survivors include two sons, James A. Bailey and Wesley Bailey both of Brownwood; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillie Anderson; her two husbands, J. O. Bailey and H. D. Gillette; two sons, Thomas Lynn Bailey and William Edward Bailey; two sisters; and three brothers.The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimers Association – Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N.
