Annelle Baxter Black, 86, went home to be with her Savior Jesus on June 15, 2016.She was born in Milton, Tennessee on August 17, 1929. Her family was military and she attended high school in Waco, Texas. They moved back to Tennessee where she graduated. She married Charles Baskin Black on December 21, 1946, after he returned from serving his country in World War II. Due to her asthma, they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1951 and lived there until 2012 when they moved to Midland to be near their daughter, Celia Page.Annelle had a strong relationship with the Lord and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad for the 61 years they lived there. She served as a deacon in 1976 and an elder in 1981. She was a kind, caring person and a good wife and mother.Annelle was active in the Lambda Chi Omega sorority. She also belonged to several ladies bridge clubs. She and Charles also liked to play bridge together with other couples. Charles retired at 62 and they acquired a motor home and traveled the western United States for 25 years. Their favorite place to go in the summer was Colorado where it was nice and cool. They made friends that they met there each year. They also traveled up the west coast and liked to fish everywhere they went. After 25 years, Charles decided it was time to retire from travelling in the motor home and stayed at home in Carlsbad.She is survived by her husband, Charles Black, her only daughter, Celia Page and husband Bobby, her granddaughter, Dianne Childers, husband Shaun, and 6 great grandsons, all of Midland, Texas; a sister, Robbye Dill and niece, Emily Ruth Dill and Nephew Jim Dill, all of Lascassas, Tennessee.She was preceded in death by her parents Lillard and Nell Baxter of Milton, Tennessee.A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 1:00 PM New Mexico time, at the First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Burial will be at a later date in the National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia where her husband, Charles, will be buried in honor of his service in World War II.Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Home Hospice, 200 W.
