Anna Lou Robinson, 82, passed gently from this world on June 26, 2007, with family members at her side.Born to Robert Michael Anderson and Vela Johnson Anderson in 1925, Anna Lou was one of three sisters. Other than a brief stint while attending Draughn's Business College in Lubbock, she lived her entire life within a 25 mile radius of her hometown of Stanton, Texas, during which time she developed and enjoyed a multitude of lasting friendships.Anna Lou was a member of the Stanton High School graduating class of 1943, and three years later married R. V. Robinson. In 1955, R. V. and Anna Lou moved with their three children from a farm five miles east of Stanton, to another near Greenwood in neighboring Midland County. For the next 40 years they were active members of the Greenwood community, then moved back to Stanton upon their retirement from farming. Anna Lou was preceded in death by her husband R. V., who died in 1999.In addition to the duties of mother and farmer's wife, from 1960 until 1980 she was employed at the Midland Farmers Co-op Gin as a bookkeeper and cotton buyer. She also worked briefly as a bookkeeper for Walters & Leonard John Deere Implement Company in Stanton.Anna Lou was a lifelong Baptist, and until her health prevented her from doing so, she was an active member of the Greenwood Baptist Church for 40 years, and later the First Baptist Church of Stanton. Tangible possessions meant little to her, and she considered her lifetime treasures to be her faith in God, and her love of family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of having a kind and generous heart, and an ever present smile, as well as being a wonderful mother and a true and loyal friend to all who knew her.She is survived by sisters, Verla Doggett and husband Richard, and Juanita Lindsey and husband A. L. (Bud), all of Stanton, daughter Debra Trantham and husband Richard of Midland, son Rodney M. Robinson of Midland, and son Don E. Robinson and wife Virginia of Katy, TX. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Services celebrating Anna Lou's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton, with Rev. David Harp, pastor, and Rev. Waymon Swopes pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church assisting, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive freinds from 6PM to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are by Gilbreath Funeral Home, and in lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Midland at P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702, First Baptist Church of Stanton at P.O. Box 1168, Stanton, TX 79782, or Greenwood Baptist Church at 10909 FM 307, Midland, TX 79706.
