Ann Sams, 91, of Midland, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2021. The family is planning a private memorial.
Ann was born on October 31, 1930 in New York City to parents, Aaron and Martha West Shapiro. She had a long career in the fashion industry before discovering her true calling as a lover and dealer of antiques. Ann loved to travel, entertain friends, and support democratic causes, and will be fondly remembered as a unique and magical woman. She was often quoted as saying, “work all day, dance all night!”
Ann is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Stuart Chase; granddaughter, Eliza Chase; Perkins Lourcey Sams, Roe Smith Sams, and Sarah Haskall Sams and their families; and her dear friend, Wes Mckinzey.
Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Perkins; son, Benjamin; brother, Stephen Shapiro and sister, Madelon Hedden.
