Anita Powell, 60, of Midland went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 3, 2007 in Midland.A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 10:00 am at Calvary Assembly of God, 908 Johnston Street in Midland, with Rev. Randall McDonald, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 pm (MST), Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Anita's nephews.She was born March 1, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico to U.B. and Mattie Elizabeth Coffee Partlow. She attended school at Post, Texas. She married the love of her life, James Powell, on October 7, 1965 in Lovington, New Mexico and raised one son. They lived in Lovington, Big Spring, and moved to Midland in 1990. She worked as a clerk at MHMR in Midland for 15 years. Anita was a kind and fun loving person who opened her arms and heart to everyone she met. She let the love of Christ shine through her, wherever she went. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Mary Frances Woods, Doris Shedd and Nell Solomon.She is survived by her husband, James Powell of Midland; 1 son, Randy Powell and wife, Kathy, of Midland; 2 brothers, Delmer Lee Partlow of Post and Jesse Partlow and wife, Cathy, of Lovington; and numerous nephews and nieces.Memorials may be sent to Calvary Assembly of God Church, Sunday School Dept., 908 Johnston Street, Midland, Texas 79701.,

James, Randy & Kathy: We were all truly blessed to have Nita in our lives. James, you & Nita were always there when I needed you, and I appreciate you. Can't wait till I see all the precious Partlow girls again. We love you.

To James, Randy and Kathy, I am so sorry for your loss. We all will miss her deeply. Anita and I worked together at MHMR and she was an extraordinary and wonderful person. Her pride and joy was her family. Anita was always there to lend and ear when I needed someone to talk to and confide in. I will miss her deeply but I know she will be with me because a part of her is in my heart along with all those wonderful memories. May God bless you and comfort you during this time of sorrow.

I just met Anita last month when I flew out to Texas to attend my niece's wedding. She was a very sweet lady & she raised a wonderful son. I am so sorry for James, Randy & Kathy for their loss. My niece was so lucky to have such a wonderful Mother in law even if it was only for a short time. She will be missed. The family will be in my prayers.

James,Randy,and Kathy, I worked with Anita for several years at MHMR,very closely. She was such a precious Christian woman, that loved her family so much. She expressed such great pride when she spoke of Randy, I know that she was thrilled for you to find that special woman God had for you and get married. I know that you have great peace that she is in her heavenly home and you will see her again! I know that I will see her there some day also. I met Nita last month when she hosted my niece's wedding to her wonderful son, Randy. I was introduced to the wonderful Powell family. They are all so kind, embracing and loving. It was evident the love everyone had for each other, especially Nita. It was a pleasure to have met her. My heartfelt symphathy to James, Randy, Kathy and Nita's many wonderful relatives. She was a wonderful lady and I was proud to call her my friend. I always looked forward every Christmas to getting a card from her, our families stayed in touch that way for many years. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Nita.I only met her and James once but I knew they were good christian friends,and ones I wanted to know better.The Angels are rejoicing that she is in Heaven with them,Jesus and her family.May God comfort you at this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. From everything I was told about her, Mrs. Powell was truly a very kind, loving and special Woman. I could hear in Randy's voice the love the has for her. I know what it meant to Kathy to have someone like Mrs. Powell in her life. I know having her there at their wedding meant the world to them. My thoughts are with the family and I am truly sorry for your loss. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Mom was an amazing woman!! She was the sweetest and Kindest person we knew. Mom was everything a mother should be you can talk to her about everything..She loved God with all her heart and her family..She is with God and the angels and her family in heaven dancing now.We love you dad and we are here for you always.

Aunt Nita was and still is one of the most wonderful people that has been an infulence in my life. She help me to become a Christian from an early age and answered all my questions when I got saved. She is my hero. My memories of her will live on. I am so blessed she is my Aunt. I love you Uncle James very much and will keep you, Randy, and Kathy in my prayers.

She was an amazing woman & will be deeply missed. May God bless you all and keep you all safe.

Anita was truly a wonderful friend. She and James have been on my mind for several weeks. I will miss her. I will be praying for James and Randy. I love them all. Her love and devotion to James was one thing I admired about her. And, he has been a good husband to her. She was blessed to have such a devoted husband to spend her life with. I lost my phone numbers for them and will always regret not getting to tell her how much I loved and appreciated her. James, in case you get to read this, please know my heart and prayers are with you. I will pray for you everyday. I will never forget Anita. I will not be able to attend the service as I am in Nursing school now and am not allowed to miss unless I myself die and then I must get permission before hand. All my love, Laura
