Anette Sanders Rogers, 96, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. The family is having a private graveside service Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Anette was born on August 21, 1926 in Big Sandy, Texas to Jewel Pearl Honeycutt Sanders and Victor Mathis Sanders. Anette married Bill J. Rogers on January 15, 1947 in Tyler, Texas. Three children were born from this union, Martha Rogers Gilbert (Terry) of Midland, Texas, Doss Rogers (Laura) of Midland, Texas, and Vicky Rogers Davis of Midland, Texas.
Anette is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jamye Gorman, and her husband of fifty-five years, Bill Rogers, also of Midland, Texas.
Anette loved her grandchildren J.J. Rogers, Megan Stewart, Todd Rogers, Sara Miller, Luke Gilbert, Patrick Davis, Scott Rogers, and Mia Zertuche. She adored her great grandchildren Noah Stewart, Owen Rogers, Brody Rogers, Henley Rogers, Emory Miller, Sanders Miller, Kinley Gilbert, Tilly Davis, Truitt Miller, Marley Gilbert, Pard Davis, and Reyn Davis.
Anette and Bill moved to Midland from Tyler, Texas in 1956. They founded Rogers Ford in 1964. Anette took great pride in watching her family carry on this business for three generations.
Anette had two places in this world that she loved more than anything. Ruidoso, New Mexico, where she enjoyed the mountains, fresh air, and Ruidoso Downs. She was ever so quick to call and report her winnings to everyone. Funny we never heard about her losing in all those years! Maui, Hawaii was a special place Anette enjoyed with her husband, Bill. They spent time in Maui every year, and she always seemed to be at her very happiest. Anette enjoyed painting, reading, and watching her favorite sports on TV. You were certain to catch her watching any football game or golf tournament if they were on. Anette’s one golden rule…do not serve me bird! “I don’t eat anything that has feathers!”
The family would like to express their gratitude towards friend and “near-family” member, Ora Roberts. Ora loved and cared for our Mom/Nana/Nan/Nano as if she was her own.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spectrum of Solutions https://www.spectrumofsolutions.org
