Andrew "Ben" Carroll, age 84, of Hobbs New Mexico, died on Monday, November 29, 2004, at Hospice Midland Inpatient Unit of Midland Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 3, 2004 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hobbs with Reverend Brian Simpson, officiating. Ben was born on April 1, 1920 in Sulphur Oklahoma to the late John Robert and Linnie Pearl Norman Carroll. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps as Staff Sargent and he was stationed in Iceland during WWII. Ben had lived in the Hobbs community since 1956. On August 27, 1984 he married Johnnie Goyette in Lovington, New Mexico. Ben was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hobbs. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Johnnie of Hobbs, two daughters: Helen Bittle of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Janet Carroll of Flagstaff, AZ, a step daughter, Bonita Spivey of Plano, TX, a step son, Jerry Adams of Midland, TX, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters: Jeannie Odor of Norman, OK, and Billie Owens of Tulsa, OK. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Dessa Jones, brother Dillon Carroll, and sister Donnie Suttle.
