Andrée Provosty Hickey, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend to many, was welcomed into heaven on May 22, 2017. She was born on February 15, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Ruth Pattison and Michel Olivier Provosty. She graduated from the Academy of Sacred Heart in 1950 and Pine Manor College in Wellesley, MA in 1952. Andrée made her debut in New Orleans in 1953 and was the Queen of the Crewe of Comus during Mardi Gras that year.Andrée created many wonderful memories for her entire family by insisting the family gather at every turn. Whether it was Thanksgiving in Midland, a weekend at the lake, Camp Cousins, or summers in Seaside, each gathering was focused on family. Andrée was the glue that held the family together. She made each of her twenty-five grandchildren feel like they were the only one. She never missed an event they were involved in. Her life is summed up in her favorite phrase, “My cup runneth over.”Her faith was strong and unwavering as was her love for family and friends. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Bill, for 63 wonderful years. She will be deeply missed by her six children; Cynthia Brown Lynch and husband Vinnie, Michele Arnot and husband Rob, Billy Hickey and wife Mary Margaret, Clifford Hickey and wife Nancy, Patrick Hickey and wife Charlotte, and Laura Davis and husband Davey. She was adored by her grandchildren: Coleman and wife Rachel, Charlotte and husband John, Wilson and wife Christin, Jeffrey, and Adelè; Andrée and husband Robert, Carrie and husband Blake, Bates and wife Claire, and Margaret and husband Robbie; Will and wife Lauren, Ben, Ann Marie, and Laura; Marshall and wife Mallory, Kathleen and husband Patrick, Clare, and Julia; Patrick, Caroline and husband Brad, Kate, and James; Michele, Jack, Cliff and Pete; her 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Andrée is also survived by her brother, Mike Provosty and wife Deirdre, sister Jacqueline “Quack” Avengo, and sister-in-law “sista” Jane Spaulding. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ruth “Woogie” Taylor.A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 2:00pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in her honor.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland.
