Alton M. Hall, 81, of Big Spring, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 31, 2017. Alton was born on May 2, 1935 in Many, LA to Monroe Hall and Nona Dees Hall. He graduated from Zwolle High School and began his 37-year career with Western Electric as an installer and later as manager with Southwestern Bell and AT&T. He loved his work and established lifelong friendships with co-workers with whom he enjoyed exchanging practical jokes. Alton’s career was interrupted when he joined the Army and proudly served his country. He married the love of his life, Treva Fellows, on May 24, 1986. In retirement, they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Alton was a man of many talents and gladly shared his knowledge and skills to help others. He could build or fix anything with his skillful hands. He was a Mason and Shriner and had been actively involved with The Walk to Emmaus, Karios Prison Ministry, and Christmas in April. Above all, he was a Christian who loved his Lord. Alton was a member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Milton Hall, Marion Hall and sister Betty Merritt. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Treva; three daughters Teri Hall, Jennifer Mercer and husband, Billy Joe, and Denita Kionka and husband, Roger; two sons David Hall and Joel Fellows and wife, Karla; and a sister, Evelyn “Dink” Winn. Also surviving are his grandchildren Ryan Randazzo, Andy Randazzo, Leah Weatherford, Jeff Kionka, and Hayley Kionka; and great-granddaughter, Elleanor Weatherford; numerous nieces and nephews; and by his beloved pet companion, Riley. The family wishes to express special thanks to Megan Chandler, as well as the Scenic Mountain nursing and ICU staff for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to The Gideons International. A graveside service has been set for 2:00 PM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas. A service of celebration has been set for 6:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Big Spring.
