Alma Louise (Pittman) McLaurin, 101, of Llano, formerly of Big Spring, died on Saturday, December 14, 2002, at Care Inn of Llano. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Alma was born in 1901 to John Warren and Clara Morris Pittman in Dublin, Texas. She married Walter Scott McLaurin in 1925. They lived in De Berry, Texas until his death in 1936. Following his death, she moved to Hamilton, Texas, where she attended beauty school and opened and operated a beauty shop there until shortly before World War II. She then moved to Big Spring, Texas where she owned the Crawford Hotel Beauty Shop in the Crawford Hotel for many years. Early in the 1950's she sold the shop, but continued to work in the area for several more years. After her retirement, she took several trips to Europe, the Canary Islands and to Alaska to visit with her son, Charles McLaurin and family. Alma was known to most of her friends and family as,
