Allen Stewart Hitchcock, 72, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Midland.Memorial Services will be held on Friday January 18th at 3:00 PM, at First Presbyterian Church in Midland with Mary Beth Anton, officiating.Allen was born on January 4th, 1941 in Midland, Texas to Edmund and Marjorie Hitchcock.He grew up in Midland, graduated from Midland High School in 1959 and received a basketball scholarship to Tarleton State College in Stephenville. He went on to college at Texas Tech majoring in Insurance and Business Finance.He moved back to Midland in 1974 where he owned his own construction company for a time and then went to work for other companies, designing and selling metal buildings, until he retired.He is survived by 2 sons Andrew Stewart Hitchcock and wife Andrea of Lubbock and David Allen Hitchcock of Midland, three grandsons, Dylan, Tanner and Stewart Hitchcock, a sister Nancy Sciple and husband Ed Sciple, niece Reagan and nephew Craig of Austin.Honorary pallbearers are the Moonshiners Class of 1959 at Midland High School: Charles Moore, Jack T Graves, Bill Mock, Kit Thompson, Rod Nugent, Mike Buckley, David Griffith, Bill Larkin, Max Berry, Daniel Harston, Tom Craver and Michael Martin McCrea.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Midland Humane Coalition.
