Allan Jay Hoover, 89, of Big Spring, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, in Cedar Park. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Ivins, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.He was born November 30, 1922, in DuBois, Pennsylvania and married Lucy Belle Sparks September 3, 1943 in Big Spring. She preceded him in death August 25, 2012.Jay served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and attained the rank of Lt. Col in the Air Force Reserves. He had been a resident of Big Spring since 1950. He worked for Jones Motor Company, Kasch Brothers Construction and for Price Construction for 20 years, retiring as office manager. He loved flying and woodworking, but most of all spoiling his grandkids.He was a member of First United Methodist Church.Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Freeman of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay Randall (Randy) and Lisa Hoover of Cedar Park; two grandchildren, Kevin Freeman and wife, Karen, and Chad Freeman and wife, Kara; four great-grandchildren, Chandler and Sterling Freeman, Ross and Ty Freeman, all of Big Spring; two brothers, Harold Hoover of DuBois, Pennsylvania and Robert Hoover of Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Juanelle Fort of Big Spring; niece, Jan Burrow of Austin; nephews, Larry Sparks and wife, Leslie of Austin, Rick Fort and David Fort, both of Big Spring.He was also preceded in death by his parents, Elvie and Mary Hoover; a son, Douglas Allan Hoover; a brother, Herbert Hoover and a sister, Alice Smiley, all of DuBois, Pennsylvania.The family suggests memorials be made to Isaiah 58, P.
