Alla ‘Sue’ (Miller) Creelman, 88, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Big Spring, passed away peacefully on August 2, at Hospice of the Valley – Lund Home in Gilbert, Arizona.
Born on May 21, 1938 in Seymour, Texas to James Mervyn and Nettie Buna Miller (Amason), grew up in West Texas and graduated from Forsan High School.
On Nov 2, 1957 she married Bob Delano Creelman and together they built a life shared with 62 years of marriage up until Bob passed in 2019. In the late ‘60’s, Sue began working for the Big Spring school district as a cafeteria cashier for one of the local elementary schools before transferring Goliad Junior High then to Big Spring High School as the snack bar cashier. She eventually turned her interests towards ceramics where she opened her small ceramic shop, ‘Sue’s Place’, and taught numerous ceramic technics to students through the years. She continued her art interests, finding a new one in oil painting and would paint many paintings for her pleasure. She was always doing arts and crafts.
Upon the closure of Webb AFB, Sue and Bob moved to Arizona 1977 where they both lived the remainder of their lives.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Brenda); nieces Barbara Beadles (Larry), Betty Beck, and Ashley Miller (Ian); nephew James Miller (Sarah); sister-in-law Bobbie Miller; grandson Dalton Williams (Haley); granddaughter Taylor Williams; and two great-grandsons, Raylon and Jackson Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Marion Mervyn Miller.
A graveside service will be held on August 19, 2026 at 12:00pm at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, Texas.
