Alice Fisher, 83 of Midland, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2002, at the Hospice House of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2003 at of Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church in Midland with Rev. Tom Kelly. A Rosary will be held on Friday, January 3, 2003 at 7:00pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Alice Marie was born on June 7, 1919, in Nazareth, Texas to Joseph and Loretta Guggemos and married John C. Fisher on January 29, 1940 in Borger, Texas. Alice has been a long time resident of Midland and moved here on Thanksgiving of 1949.She was a mother of ten children, nine boys, one girl, eight of which were Texas Aggies and in 1968 she was awarded A&M Mother of the Year. Alice was a member of the southside Lion's Club and the Women's Ladies Auxilary of VFW. After raising her family, Alice was a care giver for many years, providing many hours of volunteer work as well as practical nursing care for friends and others. She was a formerly active in St. Ann's Catholic Church and was an active member in the Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church. She was a member of Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church.Survivors include eight sons and one daughter, six daughter in laws, and one son in law; John C. and Judy Fisher of Peoria, Ilinois, Joseph H. Fisher and Betty Dobos of Dimebox, Texas, Thomas E. and Diane Fisher of Manhattan Beach, California, James R. and Sue Fisher of Bellaire, Texas, Jerry L. and Norma Fisher of Midland, Texas, Eugene T. and Ellen Fisher of Durango, Colorado, Michael J. Fisher of Austin, Texas, Patrick K. and Carol Fisher of San Antonio, Texas, Susanne M. and Barry Miller of Durango, Colorado, four sisters; Rosmary Wilhelm of Nazareth, Texas, Rita Hoffman, El Paso, Texas, Stella Shirley of Friona, Texas, Betty Bartels of Hereford, Texas, twenty five grandchildren; Matthew T., David W., Tina M., Philip H., Clinton Mark, J. Scott, Christopher J., Jacqueline M., Jason I., Sarah B., Emily R., Benjamin F., Heather, Nicole, Rebecca, Dana L., Michael R., Bonnie R., Jonathan, Charles, Billy, three step grandchildren; Leatha, Gary, and Greg and seven great grandchildren and nine step great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Fisher and her son Franklin A. Fisher, one sister; Lucille Drerup, and three brothers; Leonard, Vincent and Richard Guggemos.Memorials are suggested to the Building Fund at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church, 1008 W.
