Arthur Juarez, 64, of Big Spring, TX passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. He was born March 22, 1959 in Lorraine, Texas. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Nalley Pickle and Welch from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Arthur began his life long career in the oil field at the age of sixteen which afforded him many opportunities to travel throughout the US, as well as a 3 year stint in Moscow and Western Siberia, Russia in 1993. This was a very proud time in his life, he learned the language and made many life-long friends during this journey. Locally, he was a teacher and mentor to many beginning their careers in the oilfield under his guidance.
Arthur had many hobbies throughout his life. One of his favorites included softball. He formed a team “Ruby Reds” named after his mother and enjoyed this pastime with his team, which included close friends and family members. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, grandsons and friends. Most recently he spent time with his retired friends Mike Chesworth and Jose Pesina for whom he felt a real sense of camaraderie.
He was an avid billiards player. His favorite competition were his son, Arthur “Tweet” Juarez, Jr and his grandson, Matthew Mier, who he never let win on purpose. Arthur loved music and spoke proudly of his son’s Latin Grammy, his grandson’s guitar and song writing abilities and his grandson’s Taekwondo 2nd degree black belt accomplishment. It will forever remain a part of his legacy.
Arthur will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of family and his ability to pick right back up no matter the amount of time that had passed. He was a hard worker and understood the value of respect. The life lessons he shared with all of us will resonate for many years to come and he will live in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his children Amy French and Jacob, of Big Spring, Arthur “Tweet” Juarez Jr and Angelique of San Antonio, Texas. Three grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Mier of Lubbock, Kegan Conner French of Big Spring, Ayden Lang of San Angelo.
