Ada Marie Thompson Bishop, 78, of Midland, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008, at home. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Midland with Dr. Gary Dyer, Rev. Bruce Troy and Rev. Jack Wolf, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.Ada was born November 15, 1930, in Merkel, Texas to Bersha and Emett Thompson. She married Omer Lee Bishop on August 23, 1950 in Merkel, Texas.She graduated from Merkel High School. Ada was a wife for 58 years, a mother of 3 children, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 2. She moved to Midland in 1997. She was the secretary/treasurer for B-Line Filter & Supply and a co-owner of Merle Norman Studio. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland.Survivors include husband, Omer Lee of Midland; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Lee and Sharon Bishop of Odessa; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Bishop Wolf and Jack Wolf of Double Oak, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Marie and Craig Freeman of Midland; granddaughter, Jennifer Bishop Stevens and Chris Stevens of Midland; grandson, Joshua and Abbey Bishop of Odessa; granddaughter, Bethany Ann Wolf and Jared Thigpen of Irving; grandson, Sgt. Jonathan T. Wolf of Heidelberg, Germany; granddaughter, Bekah Marie Wolf of Double Oak, Texas; grandson, Jesse Lee Wolf of Double Oak, Texas; granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Freeman of Midland; great granddaughter, Hannah Marie Thigpen of Irving; great grandson, Caleb Thigpen of Irving; and sister, Wanda Watkins of Abilene.Pallbearers will be Kevin Doan, Steve Doan, Sid Norton, Jared Thigpen, David McGuire, Len Hosseltine and Johnny Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ramos, Ralph Ramos, Tommy Pinkerton, Steve Neal, Neil Whitmore, Darren Swinney, Jeff Gibbs, Joe McClary, Weldon Calaxton and Don Brand.
