A. W. Schraeder, 83, of St. Lawrence, died on Monday, December 23, 2002, in a Midland hospital. Vigil services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2002 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2002, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rev. Bernard Getigan, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. He was born on March 2, 1919 in Lott, Texas and married Colette Josephine Hoelscher on November 18, 1940 in Olfen, Texas. The Schraeders moved to St. Lawrence in 1947 from Rowena and were one of the first families to settle there. Mr. Schraeder farmed in St. Lawrence and had also worked as an agent for Catholic Life Insurance Company for over 50 years; serving on the Board of Directors for many years. A member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, he was very active in the church and served on the building committees for the church and rectory. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Cotton Growers Associaton. Survivors include his wife, Colette Schraeder of St. Lawrence; three sons, Dennis E. Schraeder and Gregory J. Schraeder both of St. Lawrence, and William A. Schraeder of Midland; five daughters, Betty Kohutek of Sonora, Carolyn Ann Eggemeyer of San Angelo, Kay Scott of Hobbs, New Mexico, Antoinette Pack of Midland and Theresa Pruit of Christoval; one brother, Adolph Lewis Schraeder of Castorville; one sister, Virgie Lee Jansa of Norton; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Schraeder. Pallbearers will be Chris Schraeder, Michael Schraeder, Brad Schraeder, Brandon Schraeder, Stacey Kohutek, Robbie Kohutek, Coty Pruit and Jake Lacy. The family suggests memorials to: Mt.
