Debra Lynn Florence, age 69, of Midland, Texas passed away on August 5, 2021. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
Debra was born on January 8, 1952 in Brawley, California to Ruthie Morris Holiedy and Grover Ray Holiedy. She passed peacefully at home with her devoted husband, Lee by her side. Lee and Debra were married for thirty-three years, tying the knot on October 1, 1988.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Ruthie and Ray Holiedy and a brother, Danny (Doc) Holiedy.
Those left to treasure her memory are her husband, Lee; brother, Dennis Holiedy (Teresa); her younger sister, Shawna Bennet (Dwight) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debra lived a full, exciting life. She raced dune buggies in Southern California, lived in Oregon, served in the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. She also lived in England and traveled extensively in Europe. Debra was a masterful seamstress. She could also fix things around the house, something her husband deeply appreciated. Debra was outgoing and gave generously of herself to others. Her greatest achievements were shared with her extended family in AA. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and humility will live on to inspire others. Debra was a precious friend to the many who loved her. She was a special wife, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. Her legacy of grace and love will endure.

The family would also like to express their deep gratitude to Mary Henson, Mary Jackson, Shawna Bennet, and Kim Pool who were instrumental in being there for Lee and Debra. Their loving kindness and sacrifice cannot be expressed in words. The family would also like to express their thanks to all of those who called or came by or sent cards.
