Leslie Long, 74, of Midland, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2007 in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Tim Baugh, officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens in Midland. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.Leslie was born on a farm in Van Zandt County, Texas on October 9, 1933 to Andrew and Nova Long. He lived there until he was nine. He moved to Dallas after World War II started. He attended grade school at Trinity Heights, junior high school at Bowd Story and high school at Adamson High School. Leslie attended church regularly and was active in the youth group at Saner Avenue Church of Christ. He played the guitar. He attended many Sunday afternoon singings.After graduation, Leslie went to work for Collins Radio. He married Barbara Sue Lambert on March 19, 1954 in Dallas, after basic training. He worked in field service for Collins Radio. He served as a radio repairman in Germany while in the army for two years. He went to work for Texas Instrument on June 15, 1960. He retired in September 1990 from Texas Instrument after 35 years. He enjoyed traveling to many places with his wife and children. He was a member of Midland Amateur Radio Club and ARRL American Radio Relay League and Golf Course Road Church of Christ.Survivors include wife, Barbara of Midland; daughter, Karen Michelle Long of Midland; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lowry Hershey of Amarillo; three grandsons, Declan Eugene Seymore Hershey, Ethan Lowry Long Hershey and Eoin Christopher Lambert Hershey, all of Amarillo; granddaughter, Rachelyn Carol Hershey of Amarillo; nephews, Frank Rasure of Denton and Kenneth Rasure of Arkansas.The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice, 901 W.
