Zora Lou Winslow, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma, and formerly of Midland, went home to the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2004, after a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland with Rev. Rodney White , as celebrant. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will greet friends today, Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring, in Midland, from 5 PM until 7 PM when a rosary service will be conducted.Zora was born April 30, 1927 in Stanton, TX to Alonzo Raymond and Anna Mae (Tom) Houston. She was raised on a ranch south of Stanton and attended area schools. After completing High School, Zora attended Business College in Missouri. Zora married Yuell Glenn Winslow February 18, 1949. During their early years of marriage, they lived in Stanton and California while Yuell served in the Navy. While in Stanton, Zora worked as a cotton buyer, which she dearly loved to do. In July of 1955, Zora gave birth to her son, Donald Wayne Winslow. In 1960, the family moved to Midland, where Zora resided until 1992, at which time she moved to Duncan, OK to be near her son and his family. During her life, Zora was a devout Catholic and attended St. Ann's Catholic Church while in Midland, and Assumption Catholic Church in Duncan, OK. She enjoyed playing tournament bridge, reading, and spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Donny Winslow and his wife Carla of Duncan, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Zade Winslow, Robbie Winslow, and Leslie Winslow, a sister, Janis Lloyd of Wendell, Idaho; and a brother, Fred Houston of Vernon, Texas; Zora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Yuell Winslow, her parents, two sisters, Elanor Poe and Sue Corson, and one brother, Bernard Houston.
