Z. Loretta Hendrix went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2016 at the age of 88 years. She died peacefully in her home. Loretta was born March 22, 1928 in Page, Oklahoma. She lived several places before moving to Midland in 1960.She started Loretta’s Answering Service in her home in 1962. In the early 80’s she built an office and moved it out of her residence. Loretta’s continues to be a thriving business to this day, 54 years later. Loretta was awarded business woman of the year in 2001. She was a hard working woman often working 24 hours a day. Loretta was always there when someone needed a job and she always took care of her employees in their time of need. She loved and appreciated her customers and frequently put their needs before hers. Loretta flourished in her business and loved serving the community of the Permian Basin. In addition to her illustrious career, Loretta enjoyed studying the Bible and gardening. Loretta is survived by her children, Kenneth and Becky Jones of Lone Camp, TX; and Pattie and Rickey Barnett of Midland, TX; her 10 grandchildren; and her 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Jimmy Jones of Midland, TX; Her parents John and Miranda Davis of Heavener, OK; and her two brothers and four sisters.The family would like to thank Dr. Miller, Buffy and staff at Permian Cardiology, Jubel Reed, In Home Care and, most importantly, her dear friend Shelby Crawford who cared for her and lived with her the last few months of her life. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.
