Yolanda \Landy\ Ramirez Lara, 69, of Big Spring, formerly of Brownsville, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her daughter's house in Brownsville. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring. She was born June 11, 1944 in Big Spring and married Benito Lara July 1, 1960 in Big Spring.Landy was raised in Big Spring and moved to Brownsville in 1960. She worked as a clerk at Benny's Shamrock and Valley Shamrock for 10 years, returning to Big Spring in 2002. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Benito Lara of Brownsville; four daughters, Maria Elena Olivarez and husband, Emilio of Lampasas, Alicia Montiel and husband, Baldemar of San Antonio, Margarita Casanova and husband, Gabino and Elizabeth Garza all of Brownsville; two sons, Benito Lara, Jr. and wife, Vicky of Pasadena, Texas and Isaac Lara of Brownsville; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; five sisters; and four brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Ruth Abreo Ramirez; and one brother. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, % Carolyn Brooks, P. O.
