Wilma June Galbraith Sutherland

Wilma June Galbraith Sutherland went to be with her Lord on April 24, 2022. June was born on June 21, 1931 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Nathaniel Stice and Maggie Campbell Stice. She moved to Abilene, Texas in 1950 and met and married Joe D. Galbraith in 1952. They moved to Midland in 1955 and she was widowed in 1968. She met Leroy Sutherland in 1978 and they married in 1981. They traveled extensively during their 32 years of marriage. June had a very active career in interior decorating, not only in Midland. She did jobs in Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, as well as many Texas cities.

June loved to help people and was a care giver for many. She volunteered with Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Home Hospice, The Chamber of Commerce, and the Patio at Midland Lutheran Church.

She was an active member of Church on the Journey and she loved her church and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four brothers, and a stepdaughter. She is survived by her son, Mike Galbraith and wife Judy, granddaughter, Tiffany Floyd, grandson, Joe D. Galbraith and wife Michelle; great grandchildren Jakob Floyd, Dylan Floyd, Ben Galbraith, and Ava Floyd, and her nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Resthaven Memorial Park.  Honorary pallbearers are grandson Joe D. Galbraith, and great grandsons Jakob Floyd, Dylan Floyd, and Ben Galbraith.
