Willie James Taylor

Willie James Taylor was born to Lillie Mae and Leonard Taylor on December 19, 1936 in Kosse, Texas.

Willie married Shirley Taylor in 1954 and to this union, six children were born. Willie & Shirley moved to Midland in 1962, where he worked a number of years as a head (master) chef at various local restaurants, private clubs like the San Sousi Club and Greentree Country Club where he retired.

Willie departed this life January 27, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae and Leonard Taylor; three brothers, Henry Lee Taylor, Leonard Taylor Jr. and Milton Taylor; two sisters, IlaRuth Taylor and Doris Ransom.

Willie James Taylor is survived by four daughters: Brenda Taylor Daniels (Bill), Becky Taylor, Glenda Taylor, Donya Nix (Bruce; and two sons: Willie James Taylor Jr. and Billy Taylor (Lynne); 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.
