William Riley Loper Jr.

William R. Loper, age 88 of Big Spring passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He will lie in-state on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 9:00am to 9:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in Hermleigh, Texas on November 24, 1933 to parents William R. Loper ad Nora Cordilia (Smith) Loper.

William enjoyed fishing and being out on the water. He loved his family more than anything and had a great sense of humor. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.

He is survived by his sister, Wanda June of Snyder, TX; son, Jerel Dean Loper of Big Spring, TX; daughters: Mary Eldridge of Stanton, TX, Cheryl Allsup of Weatherford, TX, Patricia Colley of Lake Charles, LA, Pansy Teague of May, TX; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Pearl; daughter, Brenda Sowell; parents, William R. Loper and Nora Cardelia; sisters: Sherry Kay, Barbara Lue, Sandra June; brothers: Horace Leanidas Loper, Elvin Marle, William Robert, Jessie Joel, Charlie Dean.
