William Milton “Bill” Currie, 68, of Stanton, died Monday, August 12, 2019 in a Midland nursing home. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel.He was born September 19, 1950 in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1969. Bill worked as a mechanic and in the oilfield most of his life. He also worked in the family business, Nita’s Ceramic Shop. He retired due to health reasons. Bill enjoyed going on scavenger hunts, metal detecting and woodworking.Survivors include two daughters, Cyndi Flores and wife, Sylvia Flores of Brownwood, and Virginia Garcia and husband, Tony of Midland; three sons, Jesus Sandate and wife, Marissa of Seattle, Washington, Pete Sandate and wife, Rosie of Rowlett, and Moses Sandate and wife, Tossie of Midland; 17 grandchildren, Michael, Scott and Courtney Lindsey, Ginger Ramirez, Joshua, Erik and Izak Vasquez, Serena, Alyssa, William, Robin, Jacquelyn, Reed, William, Montana, Isaiah and Esavel Sandate; two sisters, Donna Burns and Nancy Paul both of Stanton; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Felipa L. Currie; his parents, George Milton Currie and Nita June Currie; one grandson, Jose Luis Sandate; a nephew, Eric Paul; and a niece, Danelle Burns.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.
