William D. "Dock" DawsonWilliam D. "Dock" Dawson went to be with our Lord on November 1, 2009 when he passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by family and friends. Dock was born July 24, 1932 in Cisco, Texas. He graduated from Cisco Jr. College and joined the US Army where he served as a Corporal. He married his wife Rhonda on November 6, 1976 and they were to be married for 33 years. He worked for Chevron as a Drilling Representative for 25 years.He was a loving husband, father and most notably took pride in being a wonderful Papa. His favorite pastime was dominos.He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian, his father Abe, his brother Gene, 2 sisters Hazel and Marjay, and 2 nephews.Dock is survived by his wife Rhonda; his daughter Kim Murphy and her husband, Mark and granddaughter Alexsis; his son Dusty and his wife, Elke; his son Josh Dawson; his son Shane Dawson; and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Visitation will be held before the service starting at 2:30 PM. Chaplin Clay Porter will officiate the service.In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Compass Hospice 1330 E 8th Ste 410, Odessa, TX 79761Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. I'm so sad to hear about Doc. I played for the Loboes with him, and remember him as the toughest guy I ever played with. He was the smallest guy on the line & played guard, wich usually requires that you be a 200 pounder! It was good to hear he had such a full life and large, wonderful family.
