On January 30th, our much-loved husband, father, and friend passed from this life to a much better one.
William Curtis Kastens was born May 4th, 1949, to Ray and Doris Anderson Kastens in Viola, Illinois. At the age of eight, his family moved to Petaluma, California, where he grew to adulthood. He joined the Navy in 1968, where he very proudly served in the Navy Seabees for 21 years. He retired in 1989 with full honors as Construction Mechanic Chief.
William is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, with whom he had a son William Curtis Kastens, and by his second wife, Beverly.
In 1997, William and Karen Zuspan met and were married on October 18th, 1997. She brought to the marriage two sons, Donovan Scott Zuspan and Jason Patrick Zuspan. In 2018, after a move to Tennessee, William and Karen met a family that God put in their lives. Luke and Shey McClanahan and their four children, Rangeen, Daniel, Sadie, and William. Love for all of his children and grandchildren was huge in his life. He always made those around him laugh and feel blessed to know him. He was an exceptional man.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a future date.
