William Ewart Fletcher Jr., lovingly known as Bill Fletcher, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the remarkable age of 100.
Bill was born on September 23, 1925, in Dallas, Texas, where he was also raised. He later made his home in Midland, Texas, where he built a life filled with love, friendship, service, and joy. Bill was a proud graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU), earning his degree in accounting. He honorably served his country as a United States Navy veteran during World War II, working as an Electrical Mechanic.
A man of many interests and deep appreciation for life, Bill enjoyed snow skiing, camping, painting, antiquing, and fully embracing life’s experiences. Bill was truly a treasure to his friends and family—a man with a magnetic personality that drew people to him effortlessly. He shared 69 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret Fletcher.
Bill is survived by his son, Randy Fletcher; granddaughters Emily Lewis and Amy Beller; great-grandchildren Christopher Lewis, Cara Lewis-Hyndman, Dean Beller, and Reid Beller; and great-great-grandchildren Eve Hyndman and Davey Hyndman.
He is preceded in death by his cherished wife Margaret Fletcher and his son Michael Fletcher.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on: February 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Fairview Cemetery 1620 N. “A” Street Midland, Texas
