Wilbur Arthur Yeager Jr., 85, passed away on October 21, 2014. He was born in Midland, Texas to Wilbur Arthur Yeager and Patsy Goss Yeager.Mr. Yeager is survived by his wife Marianne Scott Yeager, his daughter Robin Yeager of Prescott, AZ, his daughter Cynthia Yeager Lundy and son Scott Yeager (wife Laura) of Austin, Texas, his son Arthur Yeager (wife Allison) of Dallas, Texas and his daughter Kathleen Yeager Bogan (husband Roy) of Hugoton, KS.Mr. Yeager had 13 grandchildren: Patrick and Sean Lundy; Christian, Sarah, Katie and Patrick Yeager; Nicholas, Harrison and Gwyneth Yeager; Ethan, Lynnelle, Trevor and Heidi Bogan.Survivors also include his brother Goss Yeager (wife Sharon) and sister Patsy Hinchey Fitzgerald (husband Dan).Mr. Yeager attended Vanderbilt University, where he pledged Sigma Chi, and then graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in petroleum engineering.He served in the U.S. Army in Pine Bluff, AR where he met his wife Marianne. Mr. Yeager’s professional career began with Stanolind Oil and Gas. He then joined the First National Bank of Midland as a petroleum engineer and rose to President and Chairman of the Board.In 1980, Mr. Yeager became an independent oil and gas man. For several decades, Mr. Yeager, his brother Goss Yeager and sister Patsy Hinchey managed the oil and gas business started by their father and his partner, J.M. “Army” Armstrong.Mr. Yeager was a member of the Poets’ Club, Petroleum Club, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Rotary Club, and president of The Friends of Fairview.The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, http://www.alz.org/.Services are scheduled for Friday October 24th at 2 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity. The Rev. Barbara Kirk-Norris will officiate and the male members of the children’s families will serve as pallbearers.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
