Wayne "Tramp" Brown, 94, of Lubbock, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, September 20, 2010 at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock with Rev. Gary Douglas, officiating.Wayne was born March 28, 1916 in Jayton, Texas to Evie (Brewer) and Henry Bruce Brown. He married Vera Mae Babb on September 20, 1942 in Lubbock. She preceded Wayne in death on November 18, 2001.Wayne was a leader in the Boy Scouts in Lubbock and Littlefield for 15 years. He received the BSA Silver Beaver Leadership Award in Lubbock and was Man of the Year in Littlefield.Wayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. He taught the Friendship class and the youth group in Sunday school there. He was a beloved uncle to nine nieces and nephews.Wayne was president of the Jaycees and a long time member of the Lions Club. He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. In his later years he hand built bamboo fly rods, researched family genealogy and organized his vast store of photographs on his computer, taking up digital photography in his 80's.Survivors include daughter, Teena Brown of Ava, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jane and Larry Johnson of Odessa; daughter, Billi Barrera of McKinney; grandchildren, Jennifer Douglas, Shelley O'Donnell, Betsy Clark, Justin Barrera and Mark Barrera; great grandchildren, Halie and Hannah Douglas, Dylan, Ashlyn, Adyson and Hudson O'Donnell and Lacy Clark.
