Wanda Dale Berry

Wanda Dale Berry, age 80 of Midland TX passed away on January 24^th, 2023 at 2:13 a.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 4^th, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch 3800 N Big Springs St in Midland TX.

Wanda was born on September 19^th, 1942 outside of Asher Oklahoma to Lester and Iva Birks. Wanda was the youngest of six siblings. She attended and graduated Asher High School, and went on to attend East Central University in Ada Oklahoma. While at East Central she met Mickey, her husband of 55 years. Together they have 3 children, James Randall Berry, Mitchell Wade Berry, and Elizabeth Anne Berry.

Wanda had many talents that carried her through life. She was an avid artist and did many paintings and ceramics. She was always the first in her jobs to advance to the top. She ran an at home day care for many years, taught English as a Second language at Midland College, and was a loved secretary at Washington Elementary. In 1987 Wanda and her family moved to Lovington NM and lived there 20 years before moving back to Texas. While in Lovington she made many friends whom she loved dearly.

Wanda is survived by her husband Arvel Mickey Berry, her son Mitchell Berry and daughter in law Jami Berry, daughter Elizabeth Van Schalkwyk and son in law Retief Van Schalkwyk, granddaughters Sadie Van Schalkwyk, Chloe Berry, Abby Berry, Landri Berry, and Avorie Van Schalkwyk. Her brother Don Birks of Thackerville Okla, her sister Doris Regan of Dale City Okla.

Wanda is preceded in death by her son Randy Berry, her parents Lester and Iva Birks, her brothers James and Bob Birks.
