On Wednesday, Walter William Clarkson Jr. (Bill to his friends and family) left this earth to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Frankie. Bill’s greatest joy was seeing his children: Cassie Richardson and Mary Roddy and grandchildren: Heather, William, Anna, Laura Ann, Jenna and Thomas. Bill loved being active, both with his church and to outrun or bike his grandchildren. He served as a Marine in the Korean war, and his training followed him throughout his life. During his life he was an electrician, a race car driver, was part of the NASA lunar module development in New Mexico, and a teacher where he taught at Midland Community College for over 25 years. In his own words, Bill “lived life how I wanted to and it was a great one.” He is preceded in death by his children Roger and Charles Clarkson and his wife Frankie Clarkson who “beat him to the gate”.
Viewing will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland on Monday August 26th from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church at 10am, internment following at Serenity Memorial Garden Cemetery.
