W.D. "Bill" Beasley, 87, of Midland, died on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM February 6, 2011, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 7, 2011, at Fairmont Park Church of Christ in Midland, with Don Mitchell and Scott Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. He was born on March 29, 1923, in Ropesville, Texas to Thomas Spencer Beasley and Carrie Toland. On August 16, 1942, he married the love of his life Jean Sullivan in Kirkland, Texas. He was in the Air Force and in the Army Air Corp. After leaving the military Bill went to work for Certain Teed Products and later transferred to Dallas to work as office manager. Upon leaving Dallas, he moved to Earth, Texas to start his own business. While in Earth, Bill served as Vice President of the Earth Bank. In 1967, he went to work for Elcor Corp. in Midland. While employed by Elcor, he worked in Dallas, Borger and Plainview. He worked manufacturing anhydrous ammonia. After the company sold he transferred back to Midland to establish Bell Petroleum. Bill was the Vice President at Community National Bank for 16 years and retired in 1998. After 'retirement' he worked as a realtor and served on the Midland Tax Board until his health began to fail. He was a part of the Suberbon Lions Club and served as a deacon at Fairmont Park Church of Christ.Hewas preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Beasley, one sister, Katheline Yount.Survivors include wife, Jean Beasley of Midland, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Sullivan of Midland, Texas; and Joyzelle Beasley of Tuscan, Arizona; 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
