W.B. "Bill" Robbins, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010.He was born January 2, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas to W.B. and Olive Louise Robbins. He married Mary Creason on August 6, 1946 and they were married 53 years upon her death in 1999.He is survived by his three children: daughter Judy Robbins and her daughters Barbara Boudreaux, Brenda Olson, and Bonnie Henry; son W.B. "Trey" Robbins III, his wife Kathy and children Will Robbins, Blake Robbins and wife Ashley, and Lee Robbins; son Royce Robbins, wife Tonja, and three children Cleigh and wife Lori, Kristen Robbins and Kelsey Robbins. He is survived by eight great grand children.Bill spent most of his adult life working in the oil and gas business for Milchem, Inc as a Mud Engineer, Regional Manager, and finally in Executive Sales. He retired in 1987.Bill is best remembered as a steadfast and loving husband, father, and grandfather and also an avid sportsman who passed the love of hunting on to his children and grandchildren. Bill was sustained by the love and ministry of his church family. Especially meaningful to him was the weekly communion and faithful friendship he received from Home Eucharistic Ministers and others at Christ Church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 12 at 4:30 p.m. at Christ Church Midland, 5501 N. Midkiff RD.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Christ Church Midland or to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Judy, Trey, and Royce... Betty and I just received an e-mail from Ed Robbins this morning with the news of Bill's death. We've been at our home in Snowmass all summer and a little out of touch, but would certainly been to his service had we known. Sad to say, the last time we saw Bill or any of you was at your Mom's funeral, but he and I would converse on the phone from time to time. He was always the same, happy guy no matter what. Robbins family, Bill was so special to us. We are very sad to hear of his passing. He always made us feel like part of the family and was so kind every time we were around him. We have so many great memories of him. I enjoyed my visit with him so much last summer, and am thankful I did get to see him that visit.
