Virginia Ovella McPeak passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Midland, Texas at the age of 95.Virginia is survived by her husband of 74 years, Don McPeak, her sister Phila Parr, her two children Jerry McPeak and wife Judy, Donna Harry and husband David. She was also blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Kristin Hightower, Kimberly Vaughn and Jeremy McPeak and 7 great grandchildren. She was one of 8 children. Those preceding her in death were brothers Nathan Hines, O’Neil Hines, Dale Hines, Kenneth Hines, Charles Hines and sister Chris Hines. She has 21 nieces and nephews.Virginia was born on March 10, 1922 in Detroit, Texas to Christopher Columbus Hines and Gracie Agnes Hines. She graduated from Detroit High School in 1940. She was married to Don on May 18, 1942. They moved to Midland in 1946.Virginia worked manufacturing ammunition at the Red River Army Depot during World War II. She also worked alongside Don when he purchased Johnny Moore’s Meat Market. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked at the Needle Nook teaching and enjoying many friends. She was a generous individual who loved to spend time with and cook for her family and friends. Virginia was an active and a dedicated member of the Crestview Baptist Church.A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park. The ceremony will be officiated by Associate Pastor David Johnson of the First Baptist Church in Midland.
