Virgil David (Pete) James, 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Saturday, March 30th, 2024. He will lie in state Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 8am–5pm. Virgil was born in Clarksdale Mississippi to his mother Elizabeth Strickland on November 23, 1957. He graduated high school in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the USMC until he began his lifelong career in the oilfield. Virgil enjoyed being a father and grandfather, as well as football, playing pool and having a good time with family and friends.
He is survived by his 2 daughters: Amber James (Chance Newton), Billie James (Josh Walker); his stepson: Brandon White; 5 grandchildren: Ricky Yanez, Seleste White, Piper James, Joshua Walker, and Hunter Walker; 2 sisters: Brenda and Mary Darnell; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Mae Strickland.
