Virgie Lee "Bogan" Qualia of Midland passed peacefully into the Lord's hands on Saturday, April 28, in Midland with her loving family by her side.She was born November 1, 1927 in Lubbock, Texas, to Tom and Theresa Sneed. She attended Texas Tech University where she studied Literature and was a member of DFD sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents and radiant sisters, Dorothy and Patricia. Bogan was devoted to her strong Christian faith.She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Frank Qualia; one son, Charles Qualia and wife Beth of Midland, TX; three daughters, Mary Ann Qualia and husband Michael Martinez of Santa Fe, NM, Frances Betts and husband Blake of Austin, TX, and Patricia Sides and husband Fred of Georgetown, TX; one grandchild, Cooper Sides, which she proudly named as "perfect one and a half baby boy". She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.At Texas Tech, she was known as a vivacious and energetic student with a love for dancing. After meeting Frank, the absolute love of her life, they married on April 22, 1950. Bogan became a mother of four wonderful children who were her heart and soul. The addition of her grandson made her life complete.Bogan had so many friends, many of them she met while playing tennis. All were captivated by her strong will, but mostly because of the kindness in her heart. She loved the beach, where she and Frank spent numerous vacations enjoying the sound of the waves, the soft breeze, and walking the beach at South Padre Island.Bogan was known for her effervescent personality, charm, grace and independent spirit, as well as her affection for animals. She was a loving mother who imparted to her children the many exceptional qualities and life lessons that she lived by.A private graveside service will be held for immediate family, officiated by Monsignor Larry Droll of St. Ann's Catholic Church. The Qualias will receive family and friends to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Bogan Qualia at Midland Country Club between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 2.In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702 or an animal shelter of your choice.The family would like to share their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to her doctors, caregivers and Hospice of Midland for their tender and generous care.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. MOM was the thrill of a sunrise, the glory of a sunset, and the brilliant stars in a dark sky. I see her and talk to her each time I see those miracles. Although she is not here, she still comforts and guides me, as she did in life. I thank God for all those gifts she gave me, and I will carry on her work. Heroes are so hard to find, but she was mine. I love you, and we shall see and hug each other again soon. Keep talking to me, MOM. Friendly

Our prayers go out to the MAQ, Friendly, Charlie, Patty and especially Frank. Having been invited to dinner a few times and other get-togethers I always thought to myself "what a family!" That they are as close as a family could be is a testament to both Frank and Bogan. Bogan, for me, was always and will always be the personification of energy and "the Inspirer". For all of us, she always urged us to aspire to more better and greater achievements. She was definitely the example for her girls and Charlie - independent thinkers and doers all. Always a joy to be around. What an inspiration!

DEAR CHARLIE, MAY GOD GIVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY PEACE. I KNOW YOUR MOM HAD A SON SHE COULD BE PROUD OF. YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS.

Bogan was so much fun to be around and talk to. Whenever my boss Nancy would say we have a job at Bogans I would be so excited to see and visit with her again. She always made me laugh and smile. She will be missed dearly. God bless the family in their time of loss.

bogan was one of the truly honest persons I have ever known, she was a joy each time I did her hair, what a joy to have someone come in that you can't wait to see and talk to about just about everything . I will miss your energy and graciousness in this world and look forward to seeing you in the next . Love you Bogan

I have known the family forever...it seems. I have known Frances since we were 13. My brother Brock and Charlie have been friends since kindergarten. And, my parents have known Frank and Bogan for over 50 years. Bogan will be missed and I am sending buckets of strength, love, and compassion the family's way!! Love you Frances, Mary Anne, Patti, and Charlie!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as I navigate the halls of my elementary school here in southwestern Colorado.

Mrs. Qualia was always so sweet to me when I would come around. My sympathies and prayers to Charlie, Frances, Patti, and the entire Qualia family.

Bogan was such a wonderful, beautiful, and funny woman. We will miss her so much. Frank, Mary Ann, Charlie, Frances, and Patti, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We wish we could be with you during this difficult time. We love you all so much. Hugs all around, Kristen and family

Bogan brought love and light into my life 20 years ago. She was a dear friend who always made me laugh, even when times got tough for both of us. I became a much better person just by knowing your Momma and your beloved wife, Frank. I am sitting here sobbing as I write this, not really believing she is gone. I can not make the reception on Wednesday but please know I will be there in spirit to salute one of the finest women I have ever known. Bless all of you. Much love, Nancy

How lovely is a wife and mother who warms your heart like the morning sun. She gives each day new meaning and makes things we do more fun. She bring us strength and courage for problems we must face and helps us keep our bearings through this daily hurried pace.
