Vicki Lou Bumbulis, 69, of Big Spring, passed away in the comfort of her own home Friday, August 22, 2025. Visitation and reception will be at Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home Thursday, August 28, 2025, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Vicki was born April 9, 1956 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Grady Lynn and Melva Ray Hodnett. Her family eventually moved to Texas, where she graduated from Big Spring High School and met and married the love of her life Walter Thomas Bumbulis. She and her husband lived an adventurous life of riding motorcycles, driving fast cars, camping under stars, gardening, baking, raising children, rescuing animals, running small hobby shop businesses, and recently celebrated 51 years of marriage. Vicki tended to her home as a homemaker the same way she tended to her gardens: with lots of love, color (and colorful language), hard work, and sweetness tucked inside. She worked various part-time jobs throughout her life. She was a lover of nature and made numerous donations to various charities, a collector of butterflies and plants, and giving gifts was her love language.
Vicki is survived by her husband Walter, her children Charlotte Ward, Joseph Bumbulis and son-in-law Jamison Ward; her sister Kayla Pedigo, brother-in-law Jim Pedigo and her nephews Grady Pedigo, Joshua Pedigo, and James Hodnett. Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Melva, and her brothers, Kirby Hodnett, Donald Hodnett, and Terry Hodnett.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Home Hospice of Big Spring, Scenic Mountain Medical Center, and Russ & Genie Rutledge of SuperRod and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Happy Day Humane Society in Big Spring, Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary or Texas Wolfdog Project & Shelter.
