Vaughn “Dean” Robinson, II, 66, of Gardendale, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.Dean was born January 2, 1950 to Jean Coombs and Vaughn Dean Robinson in Woodward, OK. He graduated from Enid High School in 1968. He attended Oklahoma State University. He sold Bibles while attending school to pay for college. Dean served in the New Mexico National Guard while attending Eastern New Mexico University. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He later acquired his CPA license. He worked at various firms until he opened his private firm and eventually became CFO at Big Lake Services, Inc.Dean lived a life of service to others. He was active at passing on his love for roping and horsemanship to the next generation. He was an active member of AA, with over 30 years of continuous sobriety. He was always willing to help other men recover. He was a lay pastor at West Texas Cowboy Church. As an integral part of this congregation, he was able to combine his love of service, dedication to Jesus and passing on the traditions of the ranching and cowboy life style.He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Robinson; sister, Jeanie Regier and husband Rod of Enid, OK; daughters, Deanna Hickman and husband Robert and children, Brooke, Ashley and Justin of Melissa, TX, Andrea Kowalewski and husband Todd and children, Easton and Ryland of Allen, TX, Lea Ann Ervin and husband Joe and children, Bailey, Cooper and Isabella of Midland; son, Lex Lewis and Debbi Dunbar of Fort Worth; a loving church community and numerous family and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother, Darwin Robinson.The family would like to express their gratitude to Big Lake Services, Inc. and West Texas Cowboy Church.
