Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 2:00PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX with Bill Welsh officiating.Stewart was born on June 29, 1954 in Austin, TX, to James and Ruth Coleman. He graduated from Crockett High School in Austin. After high school, he joined the Army. In his 5 and half years in First Cav, he served in Vietnam, Korea, Germany, and state-side. In 1983, he began his career in emergency medicine. He started as an EMT-Basic, completed his paramedic training in 1991, and he went on to instruct and train others to become EMTs.Saying he had a big heart is an understatement. He married Cindy Stacy on September 27, 1980 in Austin. When he married Cindy, he chose to take on 2 little girls and all that came with them. There was never a doubt that he had a huge heart and would drop everything for someone in need.He is survived by his wife, Cindy Coleman; daughter, Nicky Coronado and husband, Eric; daughter, Stacy Thorp; mother, Ruth Coleman; grandchildren, JaColby Thorp, Joshua Coronado, Ethan Coronado, and Jocelyn Lacan; two brothers, John Coleman and wife, Lisa; and Darrell Coleman and wife, Chris.He is preceded in death by his father, James Coleman and brother, Weldon Coleman.Pallbearers will be Stewart's Tac-Med AssociatesIn lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to: Wounded WarriorsArrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.
