Steven Galindo Aranda, 32, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N Big Spring St., Midland, Texas, at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Family visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 8:00am to 9:00pm. All services and visitations will be held at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Steven was born on April 21, 1989 in Midland, Texas to Eduardo and Josefina (Galindo) Aranda. He was a resident of San Antonio for seven years. He graduated from Midland Lee High School in 2007. He played the flute in the Lee Rebel Marching Band and Orchestra. He attended Midland College for one year before moving to San Antonio.
Steven worked for JP Morgan Chase Operations – Stone Oak. After learning to manage his body, he stayed physically active by attending the gym daily. Doctors attributed his resilience to various cancer treatments as a direct testament to the regime he kept and the strong physical health he maintained. He had bravely confronted and fought cancer. Steven’s favorite pastime was going for walks and hikes in, and around, the San Antonio area. He would often spend more than half the day out on a trail, stopping to see everything that caught his eye. He was an avid Poke Hunter, having reached level forty-one. He was a big fan of Star Wars, as well as everything Marvel’s Avengers. He spent most of his time constructing Lego’s of varying shapes and sizes.
For a man of very little words, he kept a wide social circle. Steven had friends far-and-wide throughout the state and throughout the country, whom which he would take time to visit. Steven was a member of the rave community. He enjoyed attending music festivals from coast-to-coast. Music was his driving force. Steven introduced many people to different genres and artists and invited them to join the rave community. He followed the lifestyle concept of PLUR. Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. He leaves behind a rave family that expands the world
Steven is survived by his parents, Eduardo and Josefina Aranda and his maternal grandmother, Jesus Hernandez Galindo, all of Midland.
He is also survived by his maternal aunts Maribel Armendariz, Bahola Galindo, Norma Galindo Hernandez, Mari Cortez, and Leticia Gonzales, all of Midland.
Surviving paternal relatives Felix Hernandez, Manuel Aranda, Maria Esther Aranda, Pedro Aranda and Guadalupe Aranda.
Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alfredo Aranda and Esther Anaya Erive, and his maternal grandfather, Salvador O. Galindo. He was also preceded in death by his maternal uncle Leo Galindo Hernandez. Preceding him in death on his paternal side include Jose Aranda, Ignacio Aranda, Refugio Aranda and Jesus Aranda.
The family would like to express their gratitude and say thank you for all the prayers, food and company during this difficult time. He will be missed greatly.
