Steve Wright of Midland, TX passed away April 17 at the age of 68. Steve, also known affectionately as \Bull-Head, Moose-Face\, was born in Kansas City Missouri to Jim and Ann Wright. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Rolla with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was proud of his degree and when he reported for duty after being drafted into the army he pride fully declared he was \a petroleum engineer\ and was promptly assigned a job basically fueling tanks. This required several weeks of training (remember he's an engineer) and while in training he happened to run into a fraternity brother while outside smoking. This brother had some connections and was able to get his orders changed. He proclaims this is where smoking saved his life.Steve is survived by his wife Pam, daughters Dana and Claudine, sons-in-law Rusty Welch and Mark Brown and the light of his life his grandson Braden who shares Papa's love of the infamous \brown cow\ aka a root beer float. He is also survived by his sister Terry Stockbauer and husband Greg of Kansas City, Brother-in-law Bob Barnett and wife Phyllis of Lenexa, sister-in-law Kathy Duffy, 5 nephews, several cousins, Aunt Betty and numerous friends who will miss all of his colorful stories. Especially the goat story which was always a fan favorite.Steve was an excellent story teller. He loved entertaining everyone with a funny anecdote or full blown story of epic proportions (such as above referenced goat story). He could make everyone laugh. It was his super power. Even if only stating \glad ya got to see me\ at the end of an evening. It was funny when he said it…In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity.Steve didn't want a formal service and didn't want anyone to make a fuss over him. So there will not be a funeral or memorial. Gather together, raise a glass, make a toast, and for goodness sake someone tell the goat story. And remember. Life is short, eat dessert first.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.,
