Skipper Driver, 67, of Garden City, passed away on April 20, 2011 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He lost a short but hard fought battle with a blood disease and heart failure. I am about a generation older that Skipper and never knew him personally but knew the Driver family. Father Driver and daughter Cecil, a little older than I, were the ones I knew best. We were neighbors. Hutchison ranch was between us. I worked for Mrs. Hutchison for a year and we occasionally worked stock together with other neighbors from the Wrage ranch, Drivers and Midkiffs. --Remember some dances at the Driver's and Judkins. -- Fond memories from long ago when life was different.
