Shirley Jean Neitzel, 67, of Big Spring, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ivins, pastor, officiating.The family will receive friends following the service in Garrett Hall at the church.She was born March 17, 1948 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. Shirley loved children, especially teaching them to read. She taught 1st grade for 29 years, retiring in 2003 to take care of her grandson, Bryden. From 2005 to May 2014 she worked for Children's Day Out at First United Methodist Church.She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class.Survivors include one daughter, Kristi Fontana and husband, Brian of Big Spring; one son, Scott Neitzel of San Antonio; two brothers, Marlin Kruse and wife, Gwen of Oceanview New Jersey, and Paul Kruse and wife, Julie of New Ulm, Minnesota; three sisters, Roxanne Brunsen of Mitchell, South Dakota, Dorcas Samman of Inkster, Michigan and Randee Beigh and husband, Gary of Woonsocket, South Dakota; one sister-in-law, Linda Kruse of Huron, South Dakota; two grandchildren, Bryden Fontana and Pailee Fontana both of Big Spring; her beloved pets; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Louis and Gladys A.Fritz Kruse; one sister, June Godfrey; and one brother, Keith Kruse.The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Children's Day Out, 400 S.
