Sharon Kay Oldaker, 59, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 after her struggle with lung cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Huntington will be officiating.Sharon was born to Jerry and Armeeta Oldaker in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Lee High School in 1973. She joined the US Army in February 1976, where she served with the 101 Airborne Division. She was stationed in Maryland, Hawaii, Germany, Korea, Kentucky and Texas. She served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was honorably discharged in 1992. Sharon was currently serving in the Texas Army National Guard as a part of E Co. 949, BSB. After leaving the military, she was employed with the Texas Department of Transportation. Sharon is survived by her husband, John P. Struthers; her son, Zachery Struthers; daughter, Kay Phillips; grandchildren, Ava and Diesel Phillips all of Midland; parents, Jerry and Armeeta Oldaker; sisters, JaRene Howard of North Carolina, Pam O’Neil (Lynn) of Midland, Vickey Brewer (Dennis) of Midland; brother, Wayne Oldaker (Rickie) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many special nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Oldaker.Memorials may be made to Hospice Midland, P.O.
