Scott was born on June 3, 1961 in Clovis, New Mexico to Frank & Diane Locklar, the oldest of 4 children. At a young age Scott enjoyed playing several sports and participated in Boy Scouts eventually becoming an Eagle Scout. As he got older he then decided to participate in 4-H and FFA showing pigs and steers. Scott attended high school at Midland High graduating in 1979. Shortly after completing High School Scott married and later had 3 children. After many years working in the oil field he eventually decided to utilize his talented woodworking skills to start his business in construction and building homes. Eventually retiring he then enjoyed spending his days farming and working on his tractor, and when he wasn’t working on the tractor he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a loving father and doting papaw to 11 grandchildren Tana, Tori, Logan, Lucas, Haley, Kason, Brodie, Colt, Wyatt, Nolan, and Jaycee. Scott is survived by his children Misty Roberts (spouse Steven Roberts), Justin Locklar (spouse Jill Locklar), and Mandy Long (spouse Kyle Long), his grandchildren, his father Frank Locklar, sisters Tami Finley, and Pamela Locklar. Scott is preceded in death by his mother Diane Locklar, and brother Kevin Locklar.
Scott leaves behind a legacy cherished by family and friends, who will fondly remember him. Although his absence leaves a void, gratitude fills our hearts for countless years of shared memories.
A special acknowledgement extends to Scott’s caregivers and nurses and medical staff whose care and compassion was a true blessing in his final days. We also express gratitude to extended family and friends who provided solace, shared meals, and brought us joy and comfort during this difficult time.
