Saragosa Ochoa, 86, of Big Spring, TX, passed away on the 9th of January 2026. Visitation will be on Tuesday the 13th of January with Rosary @ 7pm. Family will receive guests from 5pm-7pm. Funeral mass at 10 am, Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday with interment immediately after at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Saragosa was born on November 2nd, 1939, in Karnes City, TX to Pedro and Lucia Ochoa.
Saragosa is survived by his daughter Patsy Sanchez (Henry), Grandchildren Amanda Islas (Jon), and Jared Sanchez. One great-granddaughter Amelia Sara Islas. Sisters Janie Calhoun, Gracie Baeza, Suzie Rodriguez and Lupe Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 49 years Lucy Ochoa. His brothers; Gonzalo Ochoa, Luther Ochoa, Ely Ochoa and Johnny Ochoa. One sister, Connie Bridges. One nephew, Gilbert Narbaiz, whom he raised as his son.
Saragosa never met a stranger. He was always willing to help those in need. His smile and laugh were contagious. He lived life to its fullest, rarely missing his great-granddaughters many events. He was a farmer who loved driving a tractor and enjoyed fishing. He also worked at South Plains Implement until retirement. His most precious times were when he was with family and towards the end his Parkview ladies (Michelle, Alyssa and Brianna) who he came to love as family.
