Santos M. Duron, 90, of Big Spring, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his daughter's residence in San Antonio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. Vigil services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Santos was born November 1, 1923 in Big Spring, and married Virginia Vela, September 27, 1952 in Big Spring. Santos served in the United States Army during World War II and then worked at Webb Air Force Base until it closed. His passion was coaching baseball in the Texas Little League. He did this for over 20 years. He also loved golf and was a past member of the Chicano Golf Association. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Duron of Big Spring; one daughter, Melinda Trevino and husband, Ernest of San Antonio; one son, Cris Duron and wife, Mary Ann of Ft. Worth; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert Duron; and one sister, Adelina Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Da Macia Martinez Duron; one son, Lorenzo \Larry\ Duron; two brothers, Gregory Duron and Leon Duron; and two sisters, Aurora Paredez and Aida Sanchez.
