I just learned of Sandy’s death through the announcement in the Baylor Alumni Magazine. Sandy was my min-con leader at the Baylor pre-school retreat my freshman year. She introduced me to Baylor. God comfort her family. Griefshare is a great program for helping people get through the loss of a loved one.

Bonnie Rogers (Miller) left a message on January 13, 2023:
Spectacular Sledge Family: Anyone who knew Sandy walked away with a huge smile! She had an uncanny ability to make you feel encouraged and special, which made her truly one of a kind! After growing up playing volleyball with Shelley - seeing Sandy volunteer her time, bright energy and joyful spirit are memories I treasure of her! She had a great way of brightening every room she came into! From the fun game day treats she would put on our lockers, to coaching us in weekend volleyball tournaments, and to just being at every game cheering for everyone - she truly is such an amazingly wonderful person and I feel very lucky to have known her! And while here on earth is a little less bright without her, Jesus is welcoming a special Sandy gem into His loving arms! With deepest sympathy, Bonnie and Robert Rogers and family (formerly Miller)

I read about Sandy, and wanted to send prayers to her family. We were Blessed to know Sandy because she coached our daughter, Bonnie Miller's club volleyball team when they were in high school. Sandy volunteered to coach the team after no one else wanted to. She always made practice or the games fun. She was always positive and made everyone feel special. I remember seeing her around Lee where she had a smile for everyone and was busy helping wherever she was needed. She was such a Special person, and a Blessing to know. We will keep her family in our prayers. Jan
Carol Sledge left a message on January 12, 2023:
I always knew when I was home in MIdland for Christmas because every year I would run into my fun- loving sister-in-law trying to get her shopping done. I'd hear that voice so filled with joy and all that I could do was smile and go find her to hug her neck. She was truly a light in all that she did and all of the friendships and relationships that she had. That light will shine on because if you knew her, you can still hear her voice and feel her love in your heart. Amazing lady with an equally amazing family. Prayers and love to David, Shelley, Sam and all of her family and friends from the bottom of my heart.

Ronna Bower left a message on January 8, 2023:
I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of "Mrs. Sledge." I was her student at Goddard in what I now realize must have been her first year of teaching. I have ALWAYS remembered her over the years as the young, pretty, fun teacher who encouraged me as a young speech and debate student. I have always remembered her enthusiasm and encouragement. I credit her for lighting the fire that led me to continue in debate and eventually become an attorney. It also makes me smile to see that we were Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters. I know your hearts are heavy, but I pray you find peace in knowing she is with the Lord and that you will see her again. Many condolences, Ronna Laidley Bower
